Gravy Bhindi





Lady Finger popularly known as Bhindi. Also known as Okra. Bhindi is everyone's favourite from child to adult. Bhindi vegetable is very easy recipe at home and liked by all members at home. Raw okra is 90% water, 2% protein, 7% carbohydrates and negligible in fat (table).



Ingradients :-

Lady Finger (Bhindi) -  250 gm
Onion - 2
Tomato - 2
Green chilli - 1
Ginger Garlic Paste - 1-2 tbsp
Curd - 1 bowl
Cumin - 1/2 tbsp
Red chilli powder - 1/2 tbsp
Coriander Powder - 2 tbsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tbsp
Garam Masala - 1/2 tbsp
Coriander Leaves - 2 tbsp
Salt - To taste
Oil - 3 tbsp

Procedure :-

  • First, rinse the lady finger with running water. Then drain them completely and wipe with cloth or napkin.
  • Cut lady finger in 2-3 inch pieces. Then heat oil in pan and fry lady fingers in pan. Stir them and saute them till they cooked almost.
  • Take them out in tray or plate.
  • Now make paste of chopped onions.
  • Add oil in same pan and heat it. Then add cumin and fry it.
  • Now add onion paste and ginger garlic paste. Saute paste till onion become light brown.
  • Lower the flame and add turmeric powder, coriander powder and red chilli powder.
  • Make tomato, green chilli paste. Add this paste to pan and stir well. Now add curd.
  • add 3/4 cup water and stir it. Cook about 7-10 minutes.
  • Add salt and stir well. Add bhindi in gravy.
  • Now cook for 2-3 minutes. Sprinkle garam masala and coriander leaves.
  • Serve gravy bhindi with chapati.
